Covid Safety Lesson

New Teaching Story! Public Health: Why do others wear masks?

Who it is for: Learners of all ages

What’s new: During this lesson, we give the Learner a visual representation of the droplets that are released when people around us speak, cough, sing, or yell to show the Learner the direction and distance that those droplets can travel. We show the difference in droplet spread when others are un-masked and masked. This exaggerated imagery can help the Learner understand why we are being encouraged to wear a facemask when out in public during the COVID-19 health crisis.

Consider pairing it with: Breathing Train or Crystal Cave under Mindful Thinking. If the Learner is feeling at all anxious about being in an environment with germs, use it along with one of the calming cards either before or after the Mask Learning Card. It’s important for the Learner to understand that we all have germs. Some germs don’t make you sick at all. Some germs might make you a little sick. Other germs can make you very sick.

If you have Floreo rental equipment, please be sure to turn on your devices, make sure they are charged and connected to WiFi so we can push the update to you. If you have your own devices, make sure to visit the iOS app store with both of your devices to ensure you have the latest update!
